Two Door Concept Draws Inspiration From the Kia Soul
Do you like the design of the 2012 Kia Soul, but wish it had a little more power under the hood? While the current Soul features an envious fuel economy, we know that more than a few performance junkies out there wish they could see what the iconic box on wheels could do with some raw power.
The answer to those requests comes in the form of the all-new Kia Track’ster concept at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show, and we here at Beaverton Kia are quite thrilled about it. This smaller version of the Soul (It’s a coupe) features the same unique body, but packs a 185kW 2-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine under the hood. In terms of performance, this translates into 250 horsepower.
What’s more, it also features a all-wheel drive and a six-speed manual transmission. Can we say, fun to drive?
Unfortunately, we won’t have the chance to drive it ourselves any time soon here at 12520 SW Canyon Rd Beaverton, OR 97005, though. Kia has made it clear that the Track’ster is simply a concept for now, and that there are no plans to move it into production. Of course, the same company also recently moved the Kia GT concept into production for next year too, so it’s easy to see why we remain optimistic about the fate of the Track’ster.
