How To Connect to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Wirelessly

Many models we carry in our new Kia inventory are Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatible, and our Beaverton dealership is here to help connect your smartphone to your Kia wirelessly. The process is simple and quick, and your Kia will be able to remember your smartphone after connecting, so you won’t need to go through the process every time you hit the road.

Note that some audio head units only support USB cable connection for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, in which case, we recommend you use the manufacturer cable designated to your smartphone.

How To Connect to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in Your Kia

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will bring key features of your iPhone or Android device like navigation, music, podcasts and more to your Kia, making it the ultimate on-the-road partner.

For Android phones, download the Android Auto app from the Google Play Store and follow the onscreen instructions on your device. From here, both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will have the same setup process:

  • Ensure your bluetooth and Wi-Fi are set to ON on your phone
  • Press the SETUP KEY on your Kia audio head unit
  • Select DEVICE CONNECTION SETTINGS
  • Press PHONE PROJECTION, and then ADD NEW
  • On your device’s bluetooth settings, select the vehicle to connect
  • ACCEPT to download your contacts
  • Finally, follow the head unit’s onscreen prompts to complete the connection process

There you have it! Your smartphone is now wirelessly connected to either Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, and you’re ready to take on the road ahead. You can now seamlessly access navigation, listen to your favorite tunes, podcasts or audiobooks and make hands-free phone calls inside your Kia.
