Kia Playlist on Spotify Gaining Fans and Popularity

Spotify is a fast-growing, award-winning online digital music service that gives on-demand access to listeners’ favorite songs instantly, and can be shared with anyone. Music is pretty important to Kia, as evidenced by its recent hamster commercials featuring artists like LMFAO and their hit song “Party Rock Anthem.” So, it’s only fitting that the automaker joins in on the Spotify fun, releasing the “Kia Rio Windows Down” playlist.

Kia views the project as a great way to innovate and embrace interaction with its target audiences who are passionate about music and social media through creative marketing efforts. So far, ‘Windows Down’ has been a success with over 1,100 songs added by fans since Kia created the playlist and posted the submission process to its Facebook page in February. Also, users are listening to the playlist for an average of 24 minutes each, meaning Kia drivers in the Beaverton and Portland areas who’ve contributed to the list obviously have great taste in music.

The 2012 Kia Rio is available in a four-door sedan and five-door hatchback, offering an efficient GDI engine that boasts 30 miles per gallon city and 40 mpg highway. That’s plenty of time to crank up the volume on the ‘Windows Down’ playlist before having to fill-up at the pump.
